Her name is Leah-Boo.
She’s 3 and very healthy.
She’s hypo-allergenic/doesn’t shed.
She loves other dogs of all sizes.
She loves children of all sizes.
She’s good with cats.
She’s great off leash.
She fetches like a champ.
She knows her commands.
She loves car rides.
She has the most beautiful amber eyes you’ll ever see.
She was a dream to photograph.

Basically, she’s perfect in every way!

And you know what?  This lovely lady could be YOURS!  Leah-Boo is available for adoption through Loyal Rescue, if you’re in the market for a new companion I strongly urge you to consider Boo because honestly, this dog is fabulous!  Boo will also be on CTV on Tuesday between 7-8 PM, so watch for her there too!

ETA: Leah has found her forever home!  Loyal rescue received record amounts of applications for her, all so perfect in their own way.  She went to a family who had recently lost their Golden Doodle puppy at only 7 months old, and while I’m sure she’ll never replace their other dog they are sure lucky to have this fabulous girl!  Good luck Leah, we’re all rooting for you!

If you’re a fan on Facebook or regularly check out my Flickr stream this will be old news to you, but two weeks ago the Hotdog family grew by one, welcoming little Gnarley into the pack!  He’s fit in perfectly so far, although the other pets are all being way too easy on him (especially the cats!).  It’s hard to believe he’s already 10 weeks, and it’s also hard to believe how much he’s grown already!

And yes, Autumn is more than a little enthralled by her new little brother…in fact, she can barely contain her excitement around him!

He’s a great little guy and has been a fabulous little model since day one.  I can’t wait to share more photos of little Gnarley with you as he grows and matures into the awesome Boxer I know he will be:)

If you’re looking for a fun event for you and your doggy this weekend make sure to check out the Animals R Us festival, hosted by the Northumberland Humane Society at Victoria Park in Cobourg!  There will be demos, fun for the kids (both fur and skin alike!), raffles, auctions…oh and of course the Hotdog Photography booth!

That’s right, we have a booth at the festival again this year, and we hope to see you all there!  Not only will we be raffling off a free photo shoot just for stopping by, but if you have been waiting to book your Hotdog Photography session we will have a super secret special package available with great savings over our regular prices!  But you have to stop by (in person!) to take advantage, so don’t miss out!

I always love watching the dock dogs.  Some dogs were seasoned pros and others needed a little bit of encouragement, but in the end all the dogs did awesome and had a great time (and some of us spectators got more than a little wet)!

We watched a fun agility demo just before we left.  This PWD apparently hadn’t done any agility in almost a year, but you’d never guess it!

Missed the Scugog Dog Days of Summer?  Don’t fret!  There is another great dog festival in Cobourg next week plus yours truly will have a booth there and everything!  More details to follow:)

We recently took a little trip up to the Haliburton Highlands to get a couple of days of camping in during this heat wave!  Despite nearly drowning on the canoe ride there (insane winds and waves like you’ve never seen on a lake, filling our canoe with water and soaking all of our gear – thank heavens for waterproof camera bags!) we finally got to our site safe and sound.  Autumn is a very brave canoe dog and handled herself like a pro during the turbulence, but needless to say she was pretty excited to hit solid ground!

It wasn’t long before we met the resident frog who lived on out shoreline.  He was a big guy, and also very friendly.  He let us all go up to him (including Autumn, which you will see in a minute!).  He only hopped away if he absolutely had to, and then he was always back within seconds!

Autumn adores her little buddies (be it fur, feather or amphibian skin!) and was SO excited to meet “froggy”.  She would go periodically throughout the day to see him, although sometimes I think he grew rather tired of her visits!

Autumn swimming skills are…sub par.  She tries her hardest, and I promise you her heart is in it, but no matter how hard she tries she sinks like a rock.  She’s more than happy, however, to go in as deep as she can while still touching the ground!  She’s recently learned that if she stands on her hind legs she can go even deeper, however she hasn’t quite mastered the upright walk in the water yet!

Despite all the fun she had camping Autumn was definitely happy to get home to her bed and a slightly more climate controlled environment!

I hope everyone and their pets have been keeping cool during the crazy heat wave we’ve been having.  I love the heat, but I have to say I was pretty happy to wake up to rain this morning!

This was about the point that he realized I had pockets full of carrots!

He was a total Momma’s boy (if you couldn’t have guessed that on your own)!

Now I’m off to finish up this editing and see what other gems I can muster up!

Shelby and her mom met up with me at Jackson’s park, a great location with so many great photo ops!

I love white tipped tails.  LOVE ‘em.  All my kitties have white tipped tails, I think it’s a sign of true awesomeness.  Needless to say I was pretty excited when I came across this little gem of a tail and made sure to take many photos of it!

I call this the focus face!

After spending some time in the park we took a couple “secret” (I use that term rather loosely!) paths and ended up in this gorgeous hill top field just in time for the sun to set.  It’s kinda crazy to think that these photos were basically taken right in town!

Let me tell you something about Shelby…this girl has got TONGUE!  Check out this record breaker:

Shelby was such a love bug…any time I would crouch down to get a shot she’d wiggle her way across the ground over to me until she was right in my lap for a hug snuggle:)

This was minutes after she picked a pom-pom out of the $0.59 kitty toy bin at the pet store when given the opportunity to choose a toy, haha.

The thing I think is the coolest about these shots is that my bare eye couldn’t see a single cloud in the sky…somehow the post processing pulled all these beautiful wispy clouds out of no where!
