Sophia & Brendan
Sophia and Brendan celebrated at a family cottage in Elgin, Ontario, with a garden party feel, a ceremony by the water, and a day that felt incredibly personal and relaxed.
They really just wanted to spend the day enjoying themselves with all of their favourite people, and that easygoing energy carried through everything. Their dog Bernie served as ring bearer, cocktail hour included an oyster and beer canoe, and Sophia and Brendan snuck out onto the lake in a vintage boat for photos before joining everyone again.
Later we wandered out for a few golden hour portraits before an evening of speeches and fireworks. Even when their Dairy Queen ice cream wedding cake started melting and spectacularly collapsed while they were cutting it, they just laughed and rolled with it.
The whole day was not only stunning and a little bit editorial and nostalgic, but mostly just full of people genuinely having a really wonderful time together. It was exactly the kind of wedding I love photographing.
